Plast is the Ukrainian Scout Organisation, dedicated to helping young people grow into confident, responsible, and active members of their communities.

We encourage young people to develop leadership, resilience, independence, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility. At the same time, we nurture an appreciation of Ukrainian heritage and culture, helping young people stay connected to their roots wherever they live in the world.

Plast is built on the principle of self-development. Guided by trained volunteer leaders and supported by parents and the wider community, members learn through practical experience, outdoor adventure, teamwork, and service to others.

Founded in 1912 in Lviv, Plast was inspired by the principles of the Scout movement established by Robert Baden-Powell. Although the organisation was banned in Ukraine during the 20th century, it continued to thrive within Ukrainian communities abroad, expanding across Europe, North America, Australia, South America, and the United Kingdom. Following Ukraine’s independence in 1991, Plast returned home and has since grown into the country’s largest youth organisation.

Today, thousands of Plast members around the world volunteer their time to support Ukraine, strengthen Ukrainian communities abroad, and contribute positively to the societies in which they live.

Plast London

Plast London was re-established in 2005 and has grown steadily ever since. Today, our branch brings together more than 200 young people and volunteers, providing regular meetings, camps, outdoor activities, community projects, and leadership opportunities for children and young people of all ages.

We work closely with Ukrainian organisations across the United Kingdom while maintaining strong links with Scout organisations worldwide. Plast London is also a member of The Scout Association in the UK.
